I have spent most of my career in Human Resources, which means I have read a lot of resumes, sat through a lot of interviews, and been in the room for a lot of hiring decisions. The best moments have not been any of those. They have been the emails that show up a year later telling me someone got the job, took the promotion, or finally found work they actually like.
That is the part I built this around.
This business started before it had a name. People kept finding their way to my office to ask career questions that had nothing to do with my job description. A college student wondering what came next. An employee trying to decide whether to go after a promotion or leave. Someone who mostly needed one honest conversation and a place to start.
I said yes to those conversations for years before I realized they were the part of HR I liked most.
More than 20 years of HR leadership and consulting, across corporate, non-profit, and growing organizations. Reviewing resumes, interviewing candidates, making the hiring call, and coaching the managers who make it.
So I know the unglamorous mechanics of it. How long a resume really gets looked at. Which accomplishments a hiring manager remembers after five interviews and which ones blur together. Why a candidate who is genuinely qualified can still come across as unprepared, and how fixable that usually is once someone points it out.
What that looks like in practice: if your resume is not telling your story, I will say so. If an interview answer is not landing, I will stop you and we will rebuild it until it does. And when you are genuinely ready, I will tell you that too, because knowing you are ready is worth something.
Being honest with you is the whole point. Real confidence does not come from hearing what you want to hear. It comes from knowing you are prepared.

Often the person who reaches out first is a parent, and that is fine. Plenty of these conversations start with "my daughter graduated in May and nothing is happening." The coaching itself stays with your grad, because the skills have to be theirs to keep.
